Olympics Hurt Retail Performance

Sporting extravaganza did not boost retail as many politicians predicted

A report from the British Retail Consortium found that retail sales in August dropped 0.4 percent on a "like-for-like" basis from the same month in the previous year, according to the BBC.

It was the weakest month since last November, excluding Easter.
