Gypsies in France: We Want to Work Legally, Send Kids to School

The new Socialist government largely continues the muddled anti-Roma migrant policies of the previous government

The French government may not know what to do with them but Roma migrants living rough on the streets of Paris believe a solution to their plight is straightforward.

"I want to work," said Marcel Stoican, a 24-year-old father who was part of a small group of families camping Wednesday on the Place de la Republique in the centre of the capital.
