Pennsylvania Republican Slams Obamacare Data Hub After Voting in Support of NSA Data Collection

Big government for some, big government for others

When it comes to letting the federal government collect your personal data, U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan, R-Pa., is firmly against it.

Except when he's for it.

Meehan introduced a bill Friday to delay the implementation of a federal "data hub" that is part of the Affordable Care Act. The hub will collect and share information between seven government agencies, with state governments also involved.

Meehan says he is concerned the data hub will mean thousands of people getting access to Americans' private health information.

"The hub's scope will be vast, and the potential for theft or abuse of Americans' personal information will be unprecedented,"  Meehan said in a Friday morning news release.
