That's a no-no

The Texas Rangers have been asked to investigate allegations that Sheriff Amadeo Ortiz assigned reserve deputies to staff his campaign events, but won't until after Election Day, Ortiz's office confirmed Wednesday.

News of the investigation comes after complaints, aired on KSAT-TV, that Sheriff's Office deputy reservists were asked to staff campaign events for Ortiz, or risk losing their commissions.

Reservists are required to perform law enforcement duties for at least 16 hours a month in order to be a part of the Bexar County sheriff's reserves.
