The Doherty Radicals for Capitalism Roadshow Begins! Hollywood and New York City!

|

The tour talking up (and selling!) my new history of the American libertarian movement, Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement, begins this week. Mark your calenders and buy your plane tickets.

First: Tuesday, March 6, 7 p.m. at Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd., W. Hollywood CA., on the fabulous Sunset Strip. (Technically, the authors appear in the annex next door, because that amazing book store is so full of great books there is just no room for authors and their crowds of fans.) This will be my fourth or fifth appearance at Book Soup for various reasons (but the first, ever, about this book), and it's always a blast. I'll be doing the basic book store appearance thing: Talking about the book, reading a bit from the book, chatting with the audience about the book. The audience will be listening, being delighted, and, it is hoped, buying the book. It's a great deal for everyone. Totally free, but buying the book would be nice gesture and one you won't regret.

Then: I jet off across the nation to Manhattan, the borough so nice they named it once. On Wednesday, March 7, at 8 p.m., I'll be appearing at a drunken intellectual salon hosted by Reason contributor Todd Seavey at the Lolita Bar, 266 Broome St. at the corner of Allen St. on Manhattan's Lower East Side (one block south and three west of the Delancey St. F, J, M, Z subway stop). The usual talking and answering questions, but with alcohol! Free admission, you'll have to buy your own drinks at the bar.

But that's not all! Also in Manhattan, the next evening, Thursday March 8, at 7 p.m., I'll be doing the usual book store thing—talk, read, answer questions, selling of books–at the Barnes and Noble on Astor Place in Manhattan on 8th Street between Broadway and Lafayette. Free, buying books always recommended. (This is for those of you who won't be at the D.C. area Reason Happy Hour that night at 6:30 p.m.)

I sincerely hope to see each and every one of you at all three events. For regularly updated hype, appearances, and reviews of the book, check out radicalsforcapitalism.com.
