The Media vs. the People

|

Could most people care any less about the self-reflective stories that fascinate media mavens? Ask Stephen Brill, or now the people at New Millenium Press who decided to pay Jayson Blair to write Burning Down My Masters' House, a book about the lies he told as a reporter for the New York Times. The very much talked-about book has sold, so far, 1,386 copies (not including Wal-Mart sales, which I would not at all be surprised to find amount to somewhere close to zero).
