I was just reminded a few minutes ago of the Leonard Cohen lines ("On The Level"),

I was fighting with temptation
But I didn't want to win
A man like me don't like to see
Temptation caving in

Of course, he was talking about forbidden love—in my case, it was (literally) a doughnut.
