Attorneys Representing Utah Same-Sex Couples Urge US Supreme Court To Reject the State's Stay Application

Judge ruled Utah's ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional last month

Attorneys for three couples who challenged Utah's ban on same-sex marriage urged the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday to deny the state's application for a stay, saying the issues raised have already been rejected by two lower federal courts.

Attorneys James E. Magleby and Peggy A. Tomsic also note that the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has set an expedited hearing schedule to review the state's appeal, making a stay unnecessary.
