Al-Shabab Militants Attack Police Station in Central Somalia
According to officials, all of the attackers as well as some police officers and civilians were killed
Militants in central Somalia have attacked a police station, leaving 16 people dead.
Witnesses said a car bomb exploded Tuesday outside the entrance to the station in Beletweyne, and then a group of four armed gunmen stormed the building.
Officials said all of the attackers as well as several police officers and civilians were killed.
The Islamist militant group al-Shabab claimed responsibility, saying it had killed both Somali and Djiboutian nationals.
