Britain's most expensive homes should be hit with a "super mansion tax" to help raise billions in extra tax revenues, a senior Liberal Democrat has suggested.

 The Liberal Democrats are already championing plans to impose a 1 per cent annual levy on homes worth more than £2 million in Britain.

However, Tim Farron, the Liberal Democrat President, has suggested that multi-million pound properties should be taxed at even higher rates.
