Holder Concedes Need for Changes After Press Investigations

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder has told officials from some of the country's top news organizations that he's committed to making changes to how the Justice Department pursues leak investigations that involve reporters.
Holder on Friday wrapped up two days of meetings with the news organizations as part of a broad review of leak investigations that he is conducting at the direction of President Obama in the aftermath of revelations that federal authorities secretly obtained records of reporters' telephone logs and movements.
On Friday afternoon, he told representatives from Bloomberg News, the Los Angeles Times and USA TODAY that he planned to hold more meetings with publishers, reporters and media lawyers in the coming weeks to discuss the Justice Department's leak investigations guidelines.
