Japanese cabinet ministers recently visited a controversial war shrine
SEOUL, South Korea — Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se of South Korea has canceled a possible trip to Japan out of anger after Japanese Cabinet ministers visited a controversial war shrine, South Korean officials said on Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso and other Japanese cabinet ministers prayed at the Yasukuni Shrine over the weekend. Tokyo said on Monday that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe didn't visit but donated a religious ornament marking the shrine's spring festival with the title "prime minister" on it.
