I'm going to appear on the Mark Carbonero show at 10:10 eastern, talking about Newt Gingrich (whose exciting possible presidential bid seems to be forgotten in Fredmania!).

That's sort of an interesting question. Has the Bay City Rollers-style mania over the man from Tennessee bled away interest in a Newt run, or has it demonstrated that people are fickle and excited about whoever enters the race next? Does that work for third parties, too—like if in May 2008 the LP nominates someone with starpower (like Wayne Allyn Root or Doug Stanhope)? UPDATE: By "starpower" I mean "more media savvy than Michael Badnarik." Hard to imagine, I know.
