A Catalan separatist leader probably put it best: "Any normal language is able to penetrate the most obscure places."
He was reacting to the heated debate over the decision of the Catalan regional government to fund erotic films in Catalan, in order to spread the Catalan language. The grants of almost $20,000 were made to a local film-maker for what he described as "erotic films for women", such as Laura is Not Alone, The Memory of Fish and The Sea Isn't Blue.
Makes sense. Who doesn't want to speak in tongues?
