Dear newly elected members of Congress. Welcome!
Before you get started, there are a few things you need to know to be successful in your new jobs.
First: We know you all promised to cut spending during your campaigns, but now that you've been elected, there's no reason to go overboard.
If you suggest reducing military budgets or ending the costly wars abroad, you'll be accused of leaving America open to terrorist attacks.
And don't even think about trying to reign in unsustainable entitlements like Social Security & Medicare. You don't want people to think you hate the sick or the elderly, do you?
