The U.S. State Department apologized after showing a map of Africa at an international AIDS conference in Brazil that mislabeled every country it highlighted. The incorrect map, which appeared to have been created with AI tools, placed countries such as Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and Nigeria in the wrong locations. The State Department blamed a staff member for making last-minute changes to the presentation.
