Supporters of ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi prepared to bury 51 of their own on Tuesday, a day after security forces opened fire on a crowd of Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators outside the building where they believe Morsi is being held.

The bloodshed prompted an angry backlash from Morsi's backers in the Brotherhood, who called for an "uprising" against the country's new political order. The head of Egypt's top Islamic authority warned Monday that the country was headed toward "civil war."
