After five days of testimony, a jury in Wisconsin took four hours on Friday to find dairy farmer Vernon Hershberger not guilty of three misdemeanor licensing charges and guilty of one misdemeanor violation of a state Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection hold order. As Ryan Ekvall explains, while it was not a complete victory, Hershberger nonetheless left the courtroom beaming, proud of his partial win over the government's assault on the right to consume the food of one's choosing—in this case, raw milk.
