New Envoy to Syria Arrives in Damascus

The UN and Arab League envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, has arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, for talks with President Bashar al-Assad.
Mr Brahimi will first meet Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem.
Thousands of people have been killed in Syria since the uprising against President Assad started in March last year.
