Dale McAlpine was handing out leaflets with the 10 Commandments on them in Workington, England, when a woman approached him and began discussing religion. He listed a number of things the Bible calls sins such as drunkenness, adultery, and homosexuality. Shortly afterward, police officers arrested McAlpine for making homophobic remarks. After British media reported the arrest, police dropped the charges against him.
