English is the common language of Great Britain, and executives at the Thomas Cook travel agency say it should be that company's common language as well. It has asked staff to use English when discussing work-related matters in the work place. That includes its offices in Wales, and the Welsh Commission for Racial Equality has written to the company warning it that barring workers from speaking Welsh on the job may violate the Race Relations Act.
