Age Doesn't Have Its Privileges

|

They may be the second-oldest people on Earth. The Hadzabes have survived for 50,000 years. But they may not survive a plan by the Tanzanian government to turn nearly 2,5000 square miles, including Hadzabe hunting grounds, into the personal safari grounds for royalty from the United Arab Emirates. The Hadzbe weren't consulted on the deal, and a meeting where govenremnt officials tried to explain it to them ended with several men shouting at the officals. That led the government to jail one of those men for several days for "disruptive behavior." Others who oppose the deal say they have also been threatened with jail and are now fugitives.
