Honoring Our Veterans
Federal inspectors found a Veterans Administration nurse who was supposed to monitor veterans in private nursing homes did not make required visits for two years. But the nurse apparently continued to file reports on the patients, listing one dead veteran as stable. The nurse, who was not identified, still works for the VA, but officials say she is no longer responsible for nursing home visits.
