A Little Ditty About John and Dan
Former Vice-President Dan Quayle—the one who's no Jack Kennedy—made a brief appearence in today's San Jose Mercury News for walking out on a John Mellencamp concert this weekend. The Cougar had dedicated his rendition of Lyle Lovett's "Walking Tall" (a song from the movie Stuart Little) to "everyone hurt by the policies of the current Bush administration."

I'm feeling relatively blue
Oh how I'd love a next to kin or two
Mellencamp and Quayle both got their money's worth from their unhappy arrangement: political publicity for Mellencamp, a la the Dixie Chicks, and "VP goes Hollywood" publicity for Quayle, a la Al Gore.
