Doctor-Patient Confidentiality
A doctor's report shows Keith Emerich drinks a six-pack of beer each day. That's not good for a man with an irregular heartbeat. And Emerich says he has since cut back his drinking to weekends. But he may have more time on his hands to toss a few back. After talking to his doctor, Emerich received word from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that his driving license had been revoked for substance abuse. Pennsylvania law requires doctor to reveal any conditions they think would impair a person's ability to drive. Emerich, who has a clean driving record, says he doesn't drink and drive. He's appealing the revocation of his license.
