Anarchism

Special Supplement on Anarcho-Capitalism

Introduction

|

Within the last several years a new word has entered the lexicon of political economy. Anarcho-capitalism is the theory that what are generally considered the proper functions of a strictly limited government—basically police protection, adjudication, and defense—can and should be provided by the free market, just like other kinds of services.

REASON considers the subject to be an important one, deserving of serious discussion. In this issue, REASON publishes three articles dealing with various issues raised by anarcho-capitalists and their leading spokesman, Professor Murray Rothbard.
