A little birdy tells me of an interesting group in DC that shows "Films on the Hill." The next offering is a restored version of the silent version of The Sea Hawk, reputed to have been one of Ayn Rand's faves. More info:

WASHINGTON PREMIERE of the restored "Sea Hawk"!...

Based on the novel by Rafael Sabatini, this major studio swashbuckler tells the tale of a Cornish gentleman (the dashing Milton Sills) who is framed for murder and shanghaied off to sea. Soon his ship is captured by Spaniards and he is put to work as a galley slave. Escaping, he becomes "The Sea Hawk" the most feared pirate captain of the Barbary Corsairs and scourge of the Spanish fleet. Full-scale wooden ships were built, giving the rousing sea battles a realism not possible with models. With Enid Bennett, Wallace Beery and Lloyd Hughes. We are showing a newly reconstructed print with color tints and tones, including hand stenciled color sequences.
