Designing a fitting memorial is no easy task but, FWIW, none of these is particularly striking or fitting in my opinion. They remind me just how stunning (and controversial) the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC was when it was unveiled. That may well have been the last memorial that actually packed a wallop and I suppose these things are always far more likely to disappoint than not.
