Reason, the publication of free minds and free markets, is looking to hire a virtual studio producer to work on our slate of regular programs: The Reason Roundtable, The Reason Interview, and Just Asking Questions.

The ideal candidate will have experience producing podcasts or video programming and with the YouTube ecosystem. We're looking for someone with sharp organizational and writing skills, who will come up with ways to improve the look, sound, and flow of our productions. An understanding of Reason's mission and an appreciation for the libertarian worldview are a plus.

Job duties include:

  • Booking guests
  • Managing live recordings
  • Using the streaming software like Streamyard to cut between camera angles
  • Pulling and managing roll-in clips and images for chyron
  • Coming up with ideas for re-packaging segments and marketing them
  • Writing promotional copy
  • Occasionally helping organize and run live events in NYC and/or D.C.
  • Generating ideas for future shows and helping find new and interesting people worthy of engaging
  • Working with talent to improve the flow and pacing of our programs

Requirements:

  • Background in video or podcast production
  • Experience in journalism
  • Experience working with talent and booking guests

This is a full-time position with benefits located in our Washington, D.C. office, though remote applications will be considered.
