Peter Bagge is not only a great illustrator (and writer, although Moore’s responsible for this one), but I realize he’s criminally underrated as a letterer, too.

I’m curious. Did Reason get permission to use the Reddy Kilowatt character? I believe it’s trademarked.

Reason would not need permission to use the character, as Reason did not publish the comic. More importantly, it’s fair use for satiric purposes. There’s no chance a reader would think the Reddy Kilowatt cameo means the Northern States Power Company endorses the comic, so customer confusion isn’t an issue; hence Peter can use the mark legally.
