Todd Krainin has been producing videos at ReasonTV since 2012 out of Washington, D.C. Krainin has covered North Korean refugee Shin Dong-Hyuk, public reaction to the Bradley Manning case, and privacy issues, including Surveillance State: Maryland is Listening to You.
Originally a still photographer, Krainin's work has appeared in The New York Times, Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, and many other newspapers around the world. Photo assignments have taken him to live on a Rajasthani opium farm, witness the fall of the world's last Hindu monarch, trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp, and track illegal immigrants on the US-Mexican border.
His coverage of the Nepalese Civil War earned top honors at the Prix de la Photographie Paris and was featured at the Angkor Photo Festival in Cambodia.
