Todd Krainin produces videos from ReasonTV's Washington, DC ofice. Krainin has documented the crisis of children held in solitary confinement in American prisons, interviewed North Korean prison camp survivor Shin Dong-Hyuk, and covered privacy issues, including Surveillance State: Maryland is Listening to You.
Also an accomplished still photographer, his work has appeared in The New York Times, Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, and many other newspapers around the world. Photo assignments have taken him to live on a Rajasthani opium farm, witness the fall of Gyanendra Shah, the world's last Hindu monarch, trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp, and track illegal immigrants on the US-Mexican border.
His coverage of the Nepalese Civil War earned top honors at the Prix de la Photographie Paris and was featured at the Angkor Photo Festival in Cambodia.
