Mike Riggs is a staff writer at The Atlantic Cities and a former associate editor at Reason magazine.

He was formely a senior staff writer at The Daily Caller, which he helped launch, and an entertainment editor at the Washington City Paper. Once upon a time, he was a Reason Burton C. Gray Memorial Intern.

He has written for GQ, The New Republic, the Awl, GOOD Magazine, and the Washington Times; and appeared on WBEZ, WNYC, the Dennis Miller Show, CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News. In 2013, his feature on Obama's transparency record ("Obama: Transparently Disappointing") placed third in the news/investigative category at the Southern California Journalism Awards, while a story he wrote on Oxycontin laws ("How a Single Oxycontin Pill Nearly Ruined One Man's Life") was a finalist in the Western Publishing Association's best web article category.
