Having received medical care in the Army, and as I am now getting medical care from the VA, I can assure you all that the Army and VA health care systems are both terrible, terrible, terrible.

The VA does give itself lots of awards, though. That must count for something.

So, Jake, having had direct experience with government-run healthcare systems, what are your thoughts on increasing the government control of our healthcare system?

So he figures (based on nothing) that army people eat better than the average American, and as far as he knows, their food isn't orders of magnitude more expensive than civilian food.

Is this now enough evidence to suggest the government should take over food distribution?
