LOL.

If they are going to out source to foreigners, how about somebody cool like Rush, AC/DC, or David Guilmor?

chip | August 28, 2008, 8:54pm | #

If that's Forrest Whittaker, he's American.

Robbie | August 28, 2008, 9:10pm | #

Chip, didnt you notice that he was the last king of Scotland? How is that American?

MRB | August 28, 2008, 9:24pm | #

Awesome video! Yeah why is Obama outsourcing jobs!? I thought he was for change, for difference! I thought it was Bush's fault for outsourcing. Nice video...

Mark | August 28, 2008, 9:34pm | #

Well if you have to use foreigners, why not George Obama, your Kenyan brother?

Craptaulus | August 28, 2008, 10:58pm | #

For what it's worth, George is his half-brother.

smartass sob | August 28, 2008, 11:10pm | #

For what it's worth, George is his half-brother.

Then just use him only half the time. ;-)

Jeremy | August 29, 2008, 12:03am | #

Yeah, that's Forest. He's American, from Texas and Cali. But he plays foreigners all the time. Surely we're taking a job from a decent Ugandan.

oh | August 29, 2008, 1:58am | #

Forrest Whittaker is an American.

Episiarch | August 29, 2008, 9:11am | #

Forest Whitaker is going to take down Vic Mackey. This is an invaluable service and needs to be appreciated.

classwarrior | August 29, 2008, 9:42am | #

The Forrest Whitaker goof isn't as stupid as the premise of this video. As if the donation of performance time for a cause these wealthy celebrities believe in can be compared to throwing people out on the street after many years service so the wealthiest can get even richer. Corporate friendly pseudo-reasoning at its finest.

| August 29, 2008, 10:17am | #

Sarah Palin is McCain's pick for VP?

As if the donation of performance time for a cause these wealthy celebrities believe in can be compared to throwing people out on the street after many years service so the wealthiest can get even richer.

As if those people weren't already adequately compensated for their years of service and had some sort of right to pick the pockets of wealthy people.

The problem with this video is that it isn't funny and the premise rather lame.

Marcvs | August 29, 2008, 10:59am | #

Looks like it's going to be Palin:

Dagny T. | August 29, 2008, 11:14am | #

Somewhat OT: Sarah "Hockey Mom" Palin could help McCain lock down the elusive ex-Canadian vote (and maybe a few Canadian wannabes. I know they're out there.)

However, they can be tough to identify, as they usually blend in unnoticed with the general population. Unless someone has stamped "Foreigner" in red on their forehead.

"As if those people weren't already adequately compensated for their years of service and had some sort of right to pick the pockets of wealthy people."

Well said, Warren.

In fact, MORE than adequately compensated in most cases, which is why those jobs are outsourced to begin with.

Bono didn't mean ta bug ya.

d | August 29, 2008, 3:33pm | #

Listen, dipshits! Of COURSE Forest Whitaker (sp?) is American. It's a JOKE! (Dipshits!)

Theresa Klein | August 29, 2008, 8:59pm | #

Gotta agree with some of the other commenters.
What's wrong with outsourcing?

It promotes "global justice" by helping to equalize wages across countries.

So what if white SUV-driving energy-hogging Americans are deprived of the money to buy more oil and plasma screen TVs from China? Boo hoo.

We should hire the Bangladeshi poor to process tax returns for the IRS. They need the money more than our bureaucrats do, and just about everyone would enjoy seeing them out of work.

Material Geeza | August 30, 2008, 9:41am | #

"We should hire the Bangladeshi poor to process tax returns for the IRS. They need the money more than our bureaucrats do, and just about everyone would enjoy seeing them out of work"

That is the most libertarian comment I've read in my life Theresa Klein should be given some kind of award

great stuff

Theresa Klein | September 1, 2008, 12:46am | #

Actually, a real libertarian comment would advocate abolishing the IRS.

But one thing at a time, mate.

Warren | September 3, 2008, 12:27pm | #

WTF
Why does this post keep getting sent to the top of the page. It wasn't worth posting to begin with. It's a stupid video and frankly I think it's a mistake to host it at Reason.TV in the first place.

carr1on | September 3, 2008, 12:28pm | #

Why do they keep promoting this lame video?

joe | September 3, 2008, 12:32pm | #

Is this still funny? I hadn't noticed.

Julien | September 3, 2008, 12:46pm | #

This vidéo sucks...if it's wrong for Obama to use foreigners (which there are millions of in America) then hollywood should stop featuring them in their movies!!! Seriously, this vidéo is stupid and border line racist!!!

val | September 3, 2008, 1:05pm | #

Is this still funny? I hadn't noticed.

Nah, the video wasn't funny to being with. What is hilarious are the reactions from dimwits who think this is actually an anti-obama video, and not an attack-add spoof. Like the one from Julien right below your post, or others in this thread.

Windypundit | September 3, 2008, 1:07pm | #

First of all, of course the video is stupid: It's a spoof poking fun at the fear of foreign labor.

Second, Forest Whitaker is an American, which is why the video shows him and then skips to a scene from one of his movies where he plays a non-American. Again, it's exaggerating the fear of foreign labor.

Sorry, but I just had to put these things out there. The comments were making me nuts.

Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Warren | September 3, 2008, 1:35pm | #

Windy,

Yes but even taken on it's own terms it's still stupid and, even more unforgivably, not funny.

Look, shit happens. When it does, we should just forget about it and move on. But this tripe keeps getting re-posted or whatever.

It needs to be, if not taken down, then at least allowed to pass into the ash-heap of history.
