Two Johnston, Iowa, police officers have been disciplined for allowing a burglary suspect to escape custody. The two had interviewed the man at the Johnston police station and stepped away to talk to each other, leaving him in an unlocked room. The man slipped out the back door while they were not looking. He was arrested the next day at a relative's home.
