Close Enough for Grade School

The Texas Board of Education removed children's book author Bill Martin Jr. from a list of writers whose work should be studied in third grade. Board member Pat Hardy requested Martin's books be removed because he has written books for adults that contain "very strong critiques of capitalism and the American system." Martin wrote no such works. Hardy had him confused with another Bill Martin, a philosophy professor at DePaul University.
