In New South Wales, Australia, local city councils are barring nonsmokers from drinking in outdoor areas in pubs where smoking is allowed. City ordinances in some areas, for instance, even require clubs to post security guards to keep nonsmokers out of areas where smoking is permitted. The rules follow a state ban on indoor smoking.
