Three New York City police officers were wounded by ricocheting bullets when at least two officers fired 26 times at a dog that had bitten one of their colleagues. Four officers responded to a tenant-landlord dispute that involved someone smoking marijuana. The suspect ran from his apartment and kicked in the door to another apartment. When he did, the dog ran into the hallway and bit one of the officers, leading the others to shoot at it. The dog was killed.
