After reading some of the reports from the convention, it sounds like the only thing missing is a Tucker Carlson candidacy.

Since when did Mary Ruwart and Steve Kubby become "radicals"? Last time I checked they were both mainstream Libertarians. Now I grant you that "radicals" who I would define the purist anarcho-capitalist types, are supporting Ruwart and Kubby as better alternatives than Barr, but I can't believe they are the bulk of Kubby and Ruwart supporters. Mary Ruwart is no more "radical" than Harry Browne, unless we assume that the entry of a johnny come lately former Republican Congressman has completely re-centered the libertarian political spectrum.Manny Klausner | May 24, 2008, 4:45pm | #
Wayne Root is an attractive candidate, and he appears to have strong support at the convention. He deserves to be mentioned more prominently in these blogs.David Weigel | May 24, 2008, 5:12pm | #
FrankDrunkandStupid - They call themselves radicals and the self-named Radical Caucus is supporting them.Ben Kalafut | May 24, 2008, 5:51pm | #
We can thank chair candidate and bumper-sticker artist Ernest Hancock for this idiotic meme that has Arizona's nebbish "village anarchists" like Michael Kielsky referring to themselves in terms usually reserved for bad music or pornography.John-David | May 24, 2008, 5:52pm | #
From what I can tell from here in Ohio the Radical Caucus is crazies like Dondero who haven't embraced the war on Islam.Robert Stacy McCain | May 24, 2008, 5:54pm | #

You can't get much more radical than anarchism. Browne was an anarchist, Ruwart is an anarchist. Thus they are radicals. The fact that they are pragmatic anarchists who realize that you can't get to anarchy from here in one easy step does not detract from their radicalism.D.A. Ridgely | May 24, 2008, 6:04pm | #
They call themselves radicals and the self-named Radical Caucus is supporting them.A minor point, perhaps, but in the article the lower cased "radical caucus" is used and that does make it sound as though Mr. Weigel is choosing and not merely reporting the adjective in question. Ever if that's so, it's certainly fair; only perhaps a bit confusing. Just because someone named Hanson has a disease, that doesn't mean he has Hanson's Disease.
John Karr's not just a bisexual pagan, he's also a transvestite with a real thing about hermaphroditism. I love him.
