I rolled my eyes at the end of the first paragraph, thinking of the NYT's coverage:

In Iowa Yard, Biden Talks (and Talks) About Experience

(I can't read that; it is excerpted and discussed at the bottom of this page)

If you don't think speeches about leaving Iraq count as what Democrats want to hear, you don't know many Democrats.

Warren | September 6, 2007, 9:11am | #

"imagine what I can do as your president with $120 billion not being wasted in Iraq."

Joe's salivating at the thought of getting his hands more firmly on the federal tit. His audience imagines he'll squirt it in their mouth.

We don't have to imagine it.

We can do exactly what we are right now, but not go as deeply into debt.

Warren | September 6, 2007, 9:56am | #

joe,

My hats off to you on this one. I doubt anyone else when challenged to 'imagine what you could do with $120,000,000,000' would come up with 'not go as far into debt'. (Well maybe Donald Trump) I'm with you brother.

What do you call cutting 120^9 from the federal budget? A good first step.

And Sancho Panza will be his running mate. Give it up Senator.

joe-

I wish the candidates in your party thought the same thing. Unfortunately, they have promised so many different federal programs its hard to keep count.

I will say this for Biden. I don't like him and I won't vote for him, but I respect him. His values and thought processes may be significantly different than mine, but he is capable of thinking deeply and strategically (unlike, say, John the Unicorn Bringer.) And (like RP) he seems to be in politics to do what he believes is best for the country rather than for self-aggrandizement and power trips.

Well at least he was honest.. Speaking for 30 minutes straight counts as "brief" when it comes to Biden (or Clinton)..

And he, like Dole and McCain, at least I wouldn't mind sharing a pint of Dogfish Head with..

"imagine what I can do as your president with $120 billion not being wasted in Iraq."

Hmm $120 million for democrat programs or for a war in Iraq?

This is a tough question.

Let's never forget that this scumbag was the chief sponsor of the "RAVE act" that sought to ban parties where loud music is played, and charge the sponsor of the party with felony drug distribution if ANYONE at the party is caught with drugs.

He's all about unlimited government power catering to uninformed bigotry. And of course, he's a supporter of the most murderous government agency of all: the FDA (and expanding their powers under "Codex Alimentarius" which would make buying vitamins illegal without a prescription from an AMA-supported racketeer).

Biden is always on the wrong side of any issue. He is a Statist/fascist Democrat, a drug warrior, and in general a terrible person.
