Set Your VCRs To C-SPAN This Weekend: Doherty Discussing Radicals for Capitalism Sat. and Sun.

Ok, ok, so nobody uses VCRs anymore.

Reason Senior Editor Brian Doherty will be talking about his great new book, Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement (Public Affairs) this weekend on C-SPAN's BookTV.

For viewing times on Saturday and Sunday, go here.

For details on and an excerpt from the book, go here.

And one more pitch for subscribing to the award-winning print edition of Reason: If you bought a year's worth of Reason for less than $20, you'd be reading a wonderful excerpt from RFC by Doherty about Milton Friedman, "the 20th century's most influential libertarian."

Ok, ok, so nobody uses VCRs anymore.

I think Commenter Lamar said that they are illegal again because of the Grokster decision.

I love how CSPAN never specifies EST or PCT times...

FinFangFoom | February 8, 2007, 1:06pm | #

CSPAN is always EST.

VCR? What is this primitive recording technology?

JohnJacksonIII | February 8, 2007, 1:15pm | #

I have one. Well my wife has one. She is always recording shows for her brothers. I havent had a VCR since around 2000. And I have never had a DVD player, except for the ones that came installed in my PC and laptop. My 5 year old son has 2.

Sorry to remove the mystery.

On Saturday, February 10 at 9:00 pm and Sunday, February 11 at 6:00 pm and at 9:00 pm

Is there some sort of fancy writer's term from the basement of the English department for leaving out relevant information?

Congratulations Brian! I wish they had someone more reputable than Brandow to do the interview. Good luck with the book.

Is a VCR one of those things you have to program using punch cards?

Is a VCR one of those things you have to program using punch cards?

Yes, that is why they were replaced in Florida.

Is a VCR one of those things you have to program using punch cards?

No, you're thinking of a helicopter factory.

I use a VCR. I love this new technology. My Super 8 camera would pick up the scan lines on the TV. And it took forever to get the film back from the drug store.

I have a VCR, but not cable. Could someone please post it on YouTube? Thanks.

steveintheknow | February 8, 2007, 5:02pm | #

Sweet!! Book Tv is by far the best part about C-Span. Congrats yo....

You can rock out to the podcast of the show here when it gets posted.

Could someone please post it on YouTube?
Somebody could post it on you tube, but that would violate the copyrights since C-SPAN is a private non-profit company. They stream all of their television programs (and I think they stream their radio programs as well).

Doh! I mean YouTube, not you tube.
