7-8 y/o kids taking drugs to stop their physical development because they think they are really a girl? Any parent who lets that happen is a fool.
And the whole "either you love your kids or you care about what others think" is a load of crap. Letting kids make those type of decisions when they can't even do multiplication tables is doing them a disservice. What happens when they change their mind in a year or two...like kids are known to do about everything? What do you do? More drugs to accelerate the normal physical development you have been stalling?

I can't remember a time in my life that I didn't like girls. Still, it's the hormone treatments that bug me. Let the kid dress however he or she wants and just move to a town that is tolerant of them. But performing hormone treatments on a prepubescent child is just wrong because that child lacks the mental faculties to make a lifelong decision at that age.

I don't pass judgement on situations like that, since we can't really know what's going on with the person involved. Also, the article says Wyatt/Nicole started dressing like a girl in 4th grade, but didn't start hormone treatment until later, apparently.
