New at Reason: A. Barton Hinkle on Obama’s Great Depression

Barack Obama has joined George W. Bush in a dubious category, observes A. Barton Hinkle. They are the only two presidents besides Herbert Hoover to see the number of job-holding Americans decline on their watch. And as Hinkle notes, Obama’s parallels with Hoover don't end there. Just like Hoover’s massive government intervention did not end the Great Depression, Obama’s outlays over the past three years have not cured the country’s economic woes.
