According to the Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank, an estimated 45 percent of U.S. households paid not a single dollar in federal income tax for 2010. Yet President Barack Obama and other enlightened liberals content that the American people deeply love their federal services, their dependency programs, their regulations, and their industrious public education department. So why, writes David Harsanyi, shouldn't we all take on a proportionally fair share in the joy? Isn't it about time we shared responsibility and kicked in our share for the extraordinary benefits provided to us by Washington?
