Assume the worst-case scenario,
writes Managing Editor Jesse Walker: that the defendants in the
Hutaree case are guilty of planning a mass assassination and that
they really were capable of carrying out the attack. They
still wouldn't be the tip of a vast new paramilitary
menace. Far from proving that an army of militiamen are threatening
public order, the Hutaree case showcases the divisions in the
"Patriot" milieu.
