In September, controversial pornographer Janet Romano began serving a year-long sentence at a federal prison in Minnesota. Her husband and business partner Rob Zicari is doing time in Texas. Yet as Greg Beato writes, their only crime was daring to mix genres of entertainment—including hardcore porn and horror—that, while permissible on their own, are apparently not allowed to be combined. Thus they managed to achieve what not even John Waters ever accomplished: They were sent to prison for having bad taste.
