New at Reason: Jesse Walker on Our Centrist President

ObamaRadicalIn the wake of the Van Jones and ACORN scandals, there's a popular narrative on the right that says Barack Obama is a dangerous radical. Not so, says Managing Editor Jesse Walker: Obama's a dangerous centrist. A radical might actually allow crumbling institutions to fail.

Read all about it here.

A real journalist might find something to write about that doesn't confirm his own goofy economic dogmas. On the other hand, a slimy little right-wing propagandist pretending to be a journalist...

Um, Morris... You may have noticed (or maybe not) that Jesse refers to "corporate preservation programs" and "corporate-state partnerships," and took a shot at cash for clunkers for trying to prop up "unsustainable consumption."

To some readers, such things might actually suggest that Jesse's goofy economic dogmas and slimy agenda lean more to the left than the right.

That you interpret an attack on centrist, managerial liberalism as "right-wing" probably says more about your own worldview than his.

Why exactly is recognizing basic economic reality "goofy dogma"? I've always been really perplexed by that... I mean for godsake, the vast majority of economics is stuff that can be clearly understood by a 10 year old. / sigh

Hey, where did the previous comments go? I had something pretty decent up on there before. Are they lost in time like tears in rain, not to put to much of a dramatic flourish on it, but are they?
