The Copenhagen Consensus Center in Denmark
has launched an effort to consider how can humanity best reduce the
suffering from future global warming. The Center has commissioned
reports from leading climate economics experts to examine the
benefits and costs of different possible solutions. The reports
will be publicly released over the course of this coming month.
Reason Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey reports on the
first studies, which deal with the benefits and costs of
engineering the climate. Geoengineering may turn out to be
surprisingly cheap, Bailey writes, but are all the risks accounted
for?
