Last
week's confirmation hearings for Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia
Sotomayor featured discussion of gun control, affirmative action,
abortion, and gay marriage, as well as many an utterance of the
phrase "wise Latina." One thing that wasn't much discussed,
however, was criminal justice, at least beyond a few Democrats
boasting of Sotomayor's record of ruling against criminal
defendants.
