Do direct-to-consumer (DTC) gene tests need
to be regulated or even banned? Last month, Germany said yes,
banning them outright. The American Medical Association opposes

involved. Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey asks why they need to
be further regulated? Evidence suggests that while current tests
are of limited utility, most of them are accurate, and that
customers are satisfied with what they learn.
